I have a simple question and searched around but found no info on this: Is there a way to type Superscripts or Subscripts in a Mail message?

Thanks in advance!

I was curious about your question and just went through all possible fonts and characters/options. There does not appear to be a way using the Mail program to enter Subscript or Superscript characters. One way would be to write the mail message with your word processor, and then copy and paste to Mail. Kind of a kludge unfortunately.

You might want to try another mail app like Airmail or Thunderbird. Not sure if either of them support Sub or Super script characters??

Thank you for the info. Guess I should stop trying now!

Charlie has a good idea suggesting that we use a word processing program to create the message into Mail. If this is something you do regularly, this suggestion, might help. I think it's creating a style that can be easily selected and applied to text.

Followed that suggestion and now Super/Subscript are both available in Mail.

Thank you so much, Slydude!!

You're welcome. Thanks for letting us know that this works. I don't think I've ever used super/subscripts in Mail so9 I was surprised to find those functions missing.

BTW In addition to thanks for the rep bump I owe Charlie an apology of sorts. I went looking for an answer to this because I thought that surely Mail had this feature built-in. Turns out Charlie was right as usual.
