Hi....I have a new {new for me } Macbook pro retina 2013 and wish to migrate my data from my 2009 MBP...

I have an old firewire cable but there are no ports it will fit into in either...

What cable should i get ?

Thanks in advance..

The 2009 MacBook Pro had a FireWire 800 connector so I assume you already have that cable. What you need to do is add a Thunderbolt to FireWire adapter such as this one. I have not used Migration Assistant in a while, but I think you could also do the transfer via network if both computers are on the same network.
