I dusted off my old MacBook (2006 or 2007, not sure which), the one with the physical touchpad buttons. Am I right in recalling that the right touchpad button should open a context menu on files and such? I can still do this by pressing two fingers on the touchpad and clicking either right or left side of the button, or by using the right button of an external mouse.

I thought these were two different actual buttons but my right touchpad button does the exact same thing as the left one (just "left" clicks things, or double-click to open stuff). Basically, I'm trying to figure out of this is broken or if that's just how it's supposed to work. Most of the info on trackpads I can find online refer to newer macbooks, though.

Thanks in advance!

Look in System Preferences > Trackpad. Also, it will help if you identify which version of Mac OS X the MacBook (not Pro?) is running?

I looked in Trackpad settings, didn't see anything about configuring the right mouse button. It's updated to El Capitan. It's actually a 2009 Core 2 Duo, not a 2005/6 as I thought.
