I have good friend w/2014 Macbook Air, OS High Sierra. Is there a work around/way to hook up the Air directly to her modem?? I know Airs have no ports, but thought might be a way around. She lives in FL panhandle, and I in E. Arkansas, so no way to help directly. Her laptop evidently really using a lot of battery, and thought that might help; maybe not.

At eight years old, the battery may well be going bad. That's a good, long, run for a battery. Not sure what it takes to replace the battery, but you can check at ifixit.com for her model to see what is required. But that MBA is also 8 years old, so not worth a ton of money invested, frankly.

If it is the 11" MBA from 2014, take a look here:

Requires some special screwdrivers, and if it is glued in, it's not recommended to be replaced.

It's a Macbook Air. NO ports in which to use an adapter!!
You might want to look a little more closely!;)

To the best of my knowledge...there hasn't been a MacBook Air model released that didn't have at least 2 USB-A ports...or 2 USB-C ports. This covers more than 40+ MacBook Air models from 2008 thru 2022.

More specifically. With EVERY 2014 MacBook Air...there are at least FOUR ports:

* Two USB-A ports
* An Audio Port.
* One Thunderbolt port.

If what you're looking at has no ports...then it isn't a 2014 MacBook Air!
