Hi there,

I have configured a Windows file share server with Access Based Enumeration enabled.
By doing so, when a user connects to the file share, they are able to see folders that they have permission only.

Example setup.

Root folder "Users"
Contains 25 folders.

Each user has access to at most, 3 folders based on access permissions.

When we connect via a Windows PC, they can only see 3 folders as expected.
Everything else is hidden by the ABE protocol.

However, when we connect from a Mac, all folders are visible, but we don't have access to them all, only the ones with permissions.

So, is there any suggestions on how to hide these folders from OS X when a user connects, as we don't want them to see anything apart from what they should have access to.

Thanks in advance!

These instructions show you how to hide folders in OS X. Note... if you're dealing with a large number of folders this may not be a good method because of the amount of work and time involved.

Hey there. I was wondering if you ever managed to resolve this issue since I am trying to do the exact same thing.

Thanks.

I would have expected that since the access rights are granted by NTFS, therefore the ABE would have applied as well - even when viewed from a Mac.

Is this not the case?
