Welcome to our forums.

Are you sure you deleted the messages app? Normally built in apps that come with your Mac can not be removed even with an Admin account. Where have you looked for the messages app? Could you have possibly removed its alias (shortcut or dock icon)? If so, the messages app would still be listed in your Applications folder.

I was thinking the same thing. Maybe just the shortcut in the dock was deleted (app still in the Applications folder).

Please confirm.:)

I assume that you mean you deleted the conversations between you and other people not that you deleted the Messages app. If that is the case and you are using iCloud go to your other device iPhone etc) and log out of iCloud temporarily so the change isn't pushed to that device as well. Then we can tackle how to replace the content once we know more about what is going on.

How recent is the backup on your Mac? It is possible to replace the message database although you cannot replace individual conversations.

We will have to wait until Amber replies back. I took it to mean she removed the messages app since she asked where she could download a new copy of it.

If they did mean they deleted the actual messages, then this could possibly work:
how to restore deleted iMessages on mac

It's pretty hard or next to impossible normally to delete the Messages.app, even with the OS X protection disabled, even with Mavericks and probably before, and harder with any later OS X version.
