My iPhone is new - latest model - as above.

The Activity app and the related All Health Data app have intermittently failed to record my Walking Distance/Number of Steps:

But does record the Calorie consumption in kcals and usually - not always - my walking speed. All other data including the above are absent. I used the word "intermittently" because it would be fine for days, then stop, then start again.

I have now gone 4 days with no feedback results. Sure it shows brightness around the Activity Ring indicating that I have been out walking and, as above, it does tell me how many calories have been used up. Nothing else.

What I have done already:

Repeatedly done a total shutdown, waited five+ minutes, then rebooted. No change.

I have, further watched 3 videos online - tested all their suggestions. I should mention that I do NOT own an Apple Watch.

Although this is a relatively minor problem overall, it's important to me.

Any suggestions, friends?

Ian

Ian I have to admit I don't get a lot of use out of the Health app myself although I do have the HeartWatch app which records data to the Health app. For me I'm more focussed on cardiac arrhythmias and sleep patterns so I have individual third party apps for those. As far as Steps go I'm more interested in trends rather than specific days or distances.
You like me might have to resort to a third party app (pedometer) to get accurate steps/distance added to the Health app. Sadly many of these apps do more than required or desired and cost money.

Addit:. Pedometer++ in the App Store looks okay, you may not need In App Purchases and it's listed in the Health app as compatible.

Thanks, Rod. I'll follow-up your suggestions.

Since posting my problem, I did a full shutdown again, left it for an hour and re-booted. And it was back to normal. But this happens time & again. I've been using the Activity App for years without any problem.

Anyway, many thanks for your response.

Ian
