Adapter for old display port on Macbook

Hi. Someone recently gave me their old Macbook, which they didn't want anymore because the display doesn't work. I thought I might try and hook it up to a third party external monitor via a VGA cable. The problem is that it has the old display port that is much larger than the newer mini-display port. Does anyone have a link to the appropriate adapter? I can only find mini-display to VGA adapters for sale.

What you have there is a "mini-DVI" port. So just do a internet search for "mini-DVI to VGA adapter"…and you'll get lots of choices.
