Hi
I'm going round in ever decreasing circles trying to find out how to disable Auto Switch Off on my new Canon MG3650 printer. Monterey 12.6.3 and system says up to date.

Canon say: open the printer driver setup window and in Auto Power under the Maintenance sheet, select Disable for Auto Power Off. This doesn't appear with Air Print because you don't need a driver. Help!

The obvious choice is to install the driver to be able to control settings on the printer. Airprint, as you've said, doesn't need the drivers and as such isn't controlling the printer, just finding ones that are available and printing to it.

So if you go to Sys Prefs->Printer and then Options & Supplies, does it bring up anything specific to the printer?

I think the "Show Printer Web Page" actually opens the printer's controls via your browser.

Nope. This is what i got...and I'd no idea what password it wanted.

BUT...I found this and it worked. Don't know what would happen if it flashed more than 14 times! Canon : PIXMA Manuals : MG3600 series : Turning on/off Machine Automatically

Thanks for your suggestions.

There was a post on Twitter recently claiming Rage Against the Machine never said which machine...but the writer was sure it was a printer! 😁

That IS your printer. Look at the address, it says ".local" on the first part. That means it is local to YOUR network, and is being provided by the printer. If there is a password, it is either in the manual for the printer, or on a label somewhere on the printer itself.

The section about password: Canon : PIXMA Manuals : MG3600 series : Checking Printer Information

The password is specified to the machine serial number at the time of purchase. If you have not changed the password yet, enter the machine serial number that is printed on the "Serial Number" column of the network setting information sheet.

When the password authentication is complete, the menus that can be utilized are displayed on the web browser.

Once you're in, you can see your settings.
