I use Pure Music bookmarks on a Mojave based computer. They are generated by Pure Vinyl. Both programs are 32-bit and won't run on anything later than Mojave. I want to install my iTunes library on a Monterey system. Monterey can't handle bookmarks but it can handle track files. If I didn't have a lot of meta data in iTunes I could just add the new tracks and delete the old, but I need to replace them.

What I've found is I can render track files, which Monterey can play, and replace the bookmarks with them. The problem is it is easier said than done. The bookmark files are in a sub-directory which can only be accessed via the "Show Package Contents" command, and the track files go into the next higher directory. I can use tabs in Finder to move the files. I could probably also use terminal to do it. I might even be able to write a shell script or a ksh function to speed things up. However, the easiest approach would be to render the track files directly into the bookmarks directory. As far as I can tell there is no way to do that but I'm hoping I'm missing something. Anybody have a solution?

I have literally no clue what it is you need, but maybe I can start pointing you in the right direction. MacUpdate has some alternatives listed. Take a look at the "similar apps" on the right side of their listing for Pure Music:

One seems to stand out. Fidelia has overwhelmingly great reviews, including from Pure Music users. Even better? It's fully up to date, supporting Apple Silicon.

Unfortunately I'm not looking to switch servers. For better or worse I chose to use Pure Vinyl bookmarks and I'm stuck with them. I'm just trying to convert them to something I can play in Monterey Music.

So far I've been able to produce track files and I am working on a shell script to replace the bookmarks with the track files. This works but is time consuming and I have over 1400 vinyl albums that would have to be processed.

What would really be great is a 64-bit app that can use the bookmarks. Chanel D claims to be working on this but I've seen no progress in the last 18 months. It claims to have a working 64-bit version but it is trying to make it backward compatible instead of just releasing a replacement version as others have done.

I currently have three machines capable of running Mojave, but one is failing and I don't know about the others. There are still machines on the market running Mojave but their days are numbered.

Well, I'm back to square one. The track files replace the bookmarks and play ok but it turns out there is meta data in the bookmarks that doesn't transfer. In fact, it creates a new entry in iTunes carrying the short name and album title I saved the original digital transfer under.

The only way around the 32-bit program now seems to be an app that can use the bookmarks to locate the tracks within the transfer.

Plan B. I have the original album CAF files I used to produce the Pure Vinyl bookmarks. They can be played in Monterey. While it would be a lot of work, is there an app I could use to break the file into individual tracks?
