App Store Agent downloading in the background.

HI,

Since yesterday I have App Store Agent continuously downloading data in the background.
I can't locate it in Activity Monitor and I didn't manage to disable it. It sucks my poor bandwidth and slows me from doing anything online.
I doesn't matter how many times I disconnect, it starts again as soon as I am connected.
How to disable it?
Why the app store is downloading so many MB of data?
What is that and where does it stays on my system?

Oh well, I found it.

It is Storeagent process... I realized I had automatic updates ON for all softwares in Privacy settings.
So I disabled it and the storeagent is no more downloading the updates in background... I can surf again.

Just to clarify, the Storeagent process has nothing to do with Privacy settings. But you can disable automatic checking and/or downloading of OS X apps / App Store purchases in:
System Preferences > Software Update

Disabling the auto download is highly recommended if you might sometimes be surfing in limited bandwidth situations or (worse) over a mobile device with pricey fees for consumption since the downloads can sometimes be in the GBs. Selecting "Automatically check for updates" should not result in significant bandwidth consumption as long as you don't have any other checkboxes selected... this could help prevent overlooking important security updates while allowing you to perform the download and installation when it's most appropriate.
