Apple Photos. An app to edit and manage keywords???

I have made the switch from Lightroom to Apple Photos. The photo library has ~40,000 photos.
I use keywords extensively. Most have been brought over from Lightroom.

I know the Mac can manage and edit keywords. It is a little clunky compared to Lightroom. Are you aware of any stand-alone program or plugin to help with keywords?

Hi Monty, No. I don't. That doesn't mean that there isn't one; but because the Photos app which comes with a Mac has its own Keywords software. And it works very well.

You no doubt know that within Photos app there is the ability to create Smart Albums, where you can determine the criteria you want. You can choose dates, different cameras, keywords, locations and lots more - and being a Smart Album, it automatically updates that Album as you add new pictures.

It's short of the answer you were looking for, but may be of some assistance. Should you need info on how to create these Smart Albums (unlikely in your case), just ask

Thanks Ian. Yep, I am currently using the smart albums. They are great and help a lot.
I am just looking for a little more....

Monty, you may have found one of the limitations of Apple Photos compared to Lightroom. I use Lightroom and Photoshop, but even then use another application. I use Photo Mechanic to apply captions and extensive keywords/tags to images before uploading to a photo agency.
