audio distorition on imovie export

Hi. I put together a movie with some added audio and it sounds just fine when i play through it in imovie. However when i export it, there's these short little bursts of distortion throughout the movie. there was only two or three, but they were really loud.

How are you exporting it, as a movie file? Try sending it to Theatre and see if you get the same.

It's too long to send apparently. Should be possible to export it "normally" anyway, I've done it before. Not sure what you mean by as a movie. I export it as file.

That sounds strange, as you're only storing it on your Mac. How long is it?

Which version of iMovie, by the way.
