Call of duty black ops on 2009 iMac

Hi, I would like to buy Call of duty black ops but i am not sure if it will run on my imac.
I have a 2009 intel imac 2.66 ghz running 10.8.2 with 8GB ram & video card NVIDIA GeForce 9400 (256mb).

I read the support on the aspyr website but still don't really know!

Will this game run ok on the lowest settings?

You don't have enough video memory to adequately run the game. It may run slowly or choppy on the lowest settings. The game requires 512MB of VRAM whereas you only have 256MB.

Thanks everyone, I run COD4 on the lowest settings and it's ok, But maybe this game would be too choppy to play like that? I'll wait till it gets cheaper don't want to chance it for £35! Just wish you could try before you buy!

It's too bad a lot of games don't offer a trial version that can be tested before buying. Game publishers are in the business of making money and many are reluctant to offer a trial or limited time version.

COD4 Black Ops seems to have some pretty steep system requirements. I have a 17" 2011 MBP (2.2ghz quad-core, 8gig ram, 1gig vram)…and technically…it doesn't meet the recommended system requirements.

Some 2012 Mac's wouldn't meet the recommended system requirements. This shows how steep the system requirements are. So most older Mac's are going to struggle. Maybe not for the minimum specs….but for the recommended. I'm betting most older Mac's without dedicated video hardware will not run COD4 Black Ops very well.

Using brand new iMac 27" (dec 2012) and asypr has said it wont run

Since the 680MX was released after Call of Duty: Black Ops, it has not been tested or developed for that hardware and is not officially supported. Once this is updated, it will display in the system requirements.
