my question is

can i setup itunes to keep my song on my external hard disk and not to import on my ssd with sierra? just because i don't want to fill it up with lots of songs

if itunes need to import mp3 inside the main disk , can Audirvana keep my songs on my external disk ?

You can indeed set up iTunes to keep your library on an external drive. In fact, I've been doing that for quite a while now. Here's one approach to setting thing up that should get things done for you. After you are done with these steps go t9o the iTunes Preferences and select the Advanced tab. Make sure that the pathname points to the new library location on the external drive. If you check the right box any new content will be transferred to the media folder on the external drive. Don't delete your existing files until you are sure everything is working like you expect.

Some users who have large music libraries keep the majority of their content on an external drive or NAS and a small subset o9f the library on the internal drive for times when the external drive isn't connected. Shifting from one library to another is to launch iTunes with the Option key held down to choose which library you want to use.

If the drive you want to use is formatted NTFS you will need to reformat the drive. Use Disk Utility to format the drive as Mac HFS+ extended journaled. That's the official name for the "Sierra File System". Be sure to copy any important files off of the drive first or they will be erased during the reformatting.

As far as the sound goes I suggest we starting a new thread on that topic. Include the specs on which iMac you have and describe the sound as best you can. Also tell up which input you are connecting to on the amp. If it is using a 3.5 mm connection to the headphone jack make sure that the connector is actually carrying a stereo signal rather than mono. (stereo connectors have two black bands near the tip rather than one),
