Running MacBook Air M1, 2020 with Monterey 12.2.1
Trying to edit my bookmarks but can't find ~library.safari.plist according to directions I found online. This started when I bookmarked a site but couldn't find it in my list. Have discovered that my MacBook imported all my bookmarks from my iMac. Thanks for any help.

The path you're following isn't exactly correct. That might be from a previous OS. Give this a quick read. It will point you to the right file. How to Move Your Safari Bookmarks to Another Mac

BTW if you don't have a backup already, I suggest making a backup of that file before you do any editing.

BTW, the latest version of Monterey is 12.4. You are quite a way behind; just saying:):)

Also, if you're using iCloud, the bookmarks may have come through that way.

Still can't locate that file. Just want to edit out some sites. DL'd Commander One to see if I could locate it outside of finder. Commander couldn't find it either!!!

Did you try following this path in the article I linked to earlier?
Navigate to Home Directory/Library/Safari

On your system where it says "Home Directory" you will substitute your user account. So if, for example, your user account was named "Charlie" the path becomes Charlie/Library/Safari

If all you want to do is to edit your bookmarks, you don't need to find the plist. Just open Safari, click on "Bookmarks" on the top bar and then "Edit Bookmarks." Edit away....

I was wondering if they might have removed that feature in Monterey's Safari, which would have surprised me.

I am sure that the Monterey users will certainly appreciate the fact Ian. ;)

I think that Safari and most other browser's versions have all had some sort of method for sorting ones bookmarks. At the least the ones I have used.
