I have some albums/songs that I can see in iTunes, but I can't find them in the finder, in my music folder. There are some that are there, but one album I have has 14 songs on it, but only about seven can be seen in my music folder.

Has anyone else had this problem and if so where do I find the songs that I see in the iTunes app?

And by the way -- when I tried to post this in the apple discussions, I got a message saying that I couldn't update this content. Has anyone else encountered this problem?

Right click on the song name in iTunes, then on Show in Finder. If you see all 14 files, then iTunes may be seeing different folder for the songs. You may have to do some digging by selecting each of the 14 and comparing locations.

Just clicked on one -- there is no show in Finder option, but in Get info for the song in iTunes, it says it's location is iCloud. I don't have an iCloud account, at least from whet I remember. Can't figure out why it would be in the cloud. It says i purchased the song -- in fact the entire album.

How can I download these songs that are in icloud to my itunes music folder?

In iTunes, in the Music page, do you see in the middle, towards the top, where it says iTunes, then it says Store? Click on Store, this will take you to the iTunes music Store. On the right side of the page, look for the Purchased option and click on it. It may ask for your Apple ID password if you are not already signed in to the Store. The page that opens will be all the music you have purchased through iTunes, you may need to look around to find the music you want to download.

Any particular reason why you need to find them in Finder? Anything that you want to do with them you can probably do in iTunes.

Hello, I am trying to find which is the song in the attached files, please help! Midori doesn't seem to find it, and through the lyrics, it's quite difficult THanks in advance!

Thank you for posting. First difficulty is that you haven't attached any files, so it's really difficult to help you.

"Midori" suggests something Japanese to me - green perhaps - so could you tell us what that word means on your computer? Finder maybe?

We just need a bit more info, sorry.

@pexogoce As you can see this is an old thread (last post before today was in 2917). Perhaps it would be best to start a new thread and describe exactly what problem you are having, Ub your post please include whether you are using an Apple Music account.

Midori doesn't seem to find it, a...

I don't know what your Midori is, but I don't think it is this:
Midori is a sweet, bright green-colored liqueur made by Suntory, flavored with Yubari and muskmelon...
Unless you are in some sort of drunken stupor that is... ;)

But if the song you are looking for is a separate file with its own separate filename, you could use Find Any File.app which should be able to locate it for you.

You can find FAF available to download here:

Yes! Purchased a new M2 Mac mini Pro , apple display, couple HomePods, and two GEN 10 iPads and received three or four months of Apple Music, Apple news, and Apple TV+, which I just paid for an entire year! Not very pleased with Apple getting us locked into their music format when it was iTunes, now using Ventura you cannot sync your music with your other devices unless you pay it for a subscription to Apple Music ($10 per month) or iTunes match ($25 per year). It does show up in your subscriptions in settings, so you can cancel before it renews on the expiration date. Just put a calendar event to notify you the day before to cancel. I wish it would’ve given me iTunes Match free subscription as that is what would work in my situation best, where I only want to see the music I purchased and my CDs that I have put into iTunes years ago. Be careful if you sign up for one of the subscriptions and do not click in the menu download anything. Not sure what I did but it started downloading over 14,000 songs and I only have 4200+. I had to turn off in settings/preferences in music the second choice sync across your devices. You must turn this on to sync across devices, but also turn it off if it’s doing something crazy to your library(IRS). I deleted my library and reinstalled with from time machine the music folder. So, you have a number of songs listed in music, but in the folder for a particular album is skipping songs, say you have 15 songs for an album, but in the folder for that artist it’ll have five listed. What happened in my situation, I’m both IMAX and my Mac mini pro, a folder was created for an artist, called “Compilations”. I’m at a Barnes & Noble so I can’t say for sure the name of the folder but it’s COM… something, consolidation, perhaps. But it will be obvious, out of place. Inside you will have a list of all your missing, album, names, or artists, and within are the songs that are missing that you see an iTunes, but not in the artist’s folder. Not sure why this occurs, but perhaps someone here can explain it. This occurred on all of my macOS devices. I had at least three sessions with Senior Advisor’s to fix my library‘s, and syncing correctly, across my Mac mini Pro, and 2014 iMac and a 2011 iMac, which still calls in iTunes, however, it syncs with the rest of the libraries, and shows up perfectly in my iOS devices. In the Finder, do you know where to look for your albums and then the songs. Select the final music folder and go to COM. There you should find the folder I’m talking about. Let me know if this is what happens in your case as well. It’s your mess me up for three or four days.
Best, Seth

FYI: I think Midori is/was a web browser built on WebKit for Windows but not available iniOS or macOS.

Back to now: @pexococe, if you are trying to find a song via the lyrics online and not having any success, try different search engines. If say Google does not give you what you want try a different search engine like Yahoo, DuckDuck Go or Quant. Alternatively there are dedicated sites for this like; Find Music By Lyrics
