Hi,

I have a macbook pro 10.6 and I can't see some files on a network folder that others can.

They can be seem on windows machine, other macs and on the server itself but I cannot see the files on my computer.

Way... way too many specs to list.
Sounds like your account has 'no access' to these files. You'd need to change your account permissions on an account that has 'read and write' access.

I'm using the same account as all the other users. Furthermore, I cannot even see half the files that I put there.

I have an idea. I'll try disabling spotlight and see if that help. I read some time ago that it does interfere with network folders, don't know where I read it though. It's worth a try though.

Thanks

Try to remount the volumes using SMB versus AFP.

My best answer is that it is a Windows Server issue. To mount using AFP the Windows volume needs to be setup as Macintosh and Windows format. Most Windows IT people only know only Windows so....they format with Windows.

Lots of stories where the IT "pros" come trolling into a Macintosh Forum to solve the problems they create and are paid for, yet do not know. Linux and Mac are interchangeable problems with Windows IT techs.
