Carplay not showing Apple Messages App

Good day. I'm not sure what happend but when I plug my iphone 14 with the most current IOS into my car the text message app no longer appears. It is on the phone, I don't think I've changed any settings. All the other apps work. I have hard reset the phone, reset CarPlay, forgotten the iphone and then added it again. Any advice would ge grateful.

Does your iPhone connect to your car? In iPhone Bluetooth in Settings?

I don't have such an eye device or used car play but the OP's problem seems to have been around for quite some time including the latest updates according to the numerous hits with this Google Search:

I didn't see a definitive fix for the problem.

The messages up doesn't show up on my CarPlay, Its gone. I will be checking another iphone shortly. Under customize the app for messages doesn't appear.

Do you see the the other built-in apps in the Customize list, like Phone, Calendar and so on? It's odd that Messages doesn't show up in the list. What version iOS are you running?

yes. All the other apps such as phones, maps etc are working. It was working under the current ios 18.1. my friends iphone does show the message app when connected

updated to 18.2 Beta and it fixed the issue
