macOS Mojave 10.14.2 - The Mojave screen saver has white clouds in the upper right. That is also where I like to keep my Desktop icons. The label text of the icons is white therefore almost impossible to read because the white text gets lost in the clouds. Is there a way to change that text to black?

I am not sure what the issues with desktop text has to do with the screen saver?? I don't know of a way to change the text to black but you can make several adjustments by going to System Preferences -> Accessibility -> Display. You can make some changes to how the Desktop colors and contrast will look.

Sorry not the screensaver. The desktop background. The Mojave background picture. The upper right is white clouds. White text of icons cannot be seen in white clouds.

No disrespect intended barrygue but given the range of Desktop Images available why not simply change it?
See; Apple Menu > System Preferences > Desktop and Screensaver > Desktop tab and choose from the range of stock pictures for your macOS version or the other folders listed in the sidebar.
I'm running macOS Mojave and I absolutely love the Dark Mode appearance option and dark desktop but similar dark desktop images or strongly contrasting options can be found in earlier macOS versions too.

I knew I could do that but changing the desktop background was too easy. My wife says I'm very stubborn. She says there are 3 ways to do things > the right way, the wrong way, and Barry's way (me). Anyway, that's what I did. I finally took the easy way. :)

As a frequent weather of European TV series I used to find white subtitles frustrating on pale backgrounds but just of late I've noticed that newer series are using yellow. Maybe Apple could take a hint from that.

Better still, use one of your own photos.
