I have a bit of problem with my contacts and emailing. it has been an issue for quite some time and I just ignored it as I was able to continue on with my emailing.

recently purchased iphone12 and just love it.... the transfer done a local dealer went well. I recently added a new contact and sent them an email from my iPad.
when on my MacBook this am... I did not see that email in sent folder.
I have more than 1 email but use only 1 regularly (four.els). that one does not show in my contacts in iCloud site... I think it may have been deleted in error when doing data trfr from iphone7 to 12.

anyway... back to the old issue...

am confused as to what iCloud does... I was under the understanding that being on the cloud allows you to access data on all devices.
my contacts on cloud are incorrect ..... I have all my contacts on all devices showing nicely even the newest one.
how then is this happening as they are not in iCloud site contacts folder.

so what im wanting to do is:
1. get all contacts for four.els email which shows on all my devices loaded up to the cloud.
2. want to delete some groups no longer needed.

How do these groups get created anyway. I dont really use groups at all.

it is probably something in my settings... but not sure where to look. I could use some help here.
hopefully not too tech!!

attached is an image of my email accounts and number of contacts in each.
as you can see, the contact totals on all my devices are pretty much the same....it just that contact in iCloud is not correct.

n/a means that account does not show as a folder on my devices. if there is a 0, means shows as folder on devices but no contacts inside.

Just broadly, I have an iPhone, iPad and two MacBooks and my email accounts on all are the same.
As long as my iCloud settings are the same on all devices (Apple ID and synced items) then no matter what email client I use, all my emails; Inbox and Sent, are exactly the same on each device and the same goes for my Contacts.
So my only advice is, ensure you have the same account details on each device and ensure you are logged into iCloud in the same way on each device and that you have ticked the same syncing preferences.

Just log on to your personal iCloud page, select Contacts from the menu, and then manually add those contacts you wish. Within minutes after updating the iCloud Contacts list, it will sync to your iPhones.

I've used that procedure several times and it works well. Of course if you have loads of contacts to add, you might want to copy and paste. But I'm not sure how that would work with iCloud.

adding to icloud.com all the contacts over 200 wuld be to big of a task. there has got to be a better way.

like I said, all the contacts are correct on my iPad my iPhone 12&7 and mbp.... but ony for those in icloud group.
i have over 200 under my email group but they dont show in icloud.com acct.

do its my email group contact list that is not in icloud.com

Woohoo! Just when I worked it out.
I too have contacts in my email browser that do not appear in the contacts app (iCloud). I realise that their address comes up in my email client when I go to write an email to them but I have never selected their email address and added them to contacts. Once you do that, and create a name card for them they are added to my default email list (iCloud).
Well done you.
