Contacts / is there a maximum word limit in "note" field

I am on 10.10.3

Last week I got a new iPhone 6 and took phone and laptop to Apple to set up phone. I think they put my Contacts on iCloud and my head is still in the clouds about iCloud.

It seems like since then I have been having problems with edits saving in my contacts, especially where I have a lot of info in the "note" field. Which makes me ask if there is a maximum text allowance in "note" field?

I love "Contacts" and use them a lot for storing all kinds of info - I need to get this figured out and my Google attempts don't help.

Hi Annie:

The easiest way to manage your contacts and notes is to use the "contacts.app" on your Mac and sync them to your new iPhone. That's how I do it for both my and my wife's iPhones. It's easy and more convenient to work from your Mac. Just make sure you have iCloud selected and setup in System Preferences, iCloud on your Mac.

There might be a limit - that field isn't meant to store a novel. I can't decipher the CardDav RFC but I imagine that there could be a technical or artificial limit. How long is a note on a contact that doesn't sync?

Thank you - yes, using "Contacts" on both. I was just unsure of the iCloud but I guess I am there!

Some of my notes are pretty long - I will refrain from writing the "novel!"
