Cursor flickers when typing in Microsoft Word

Hello, my cursor is constantly flickering any time I type or delete in microsoft word. This isn't the line you see at the end of your sentence when you type, this is the black triangle cursor that is over to the side or anywhere you place it with your trackpad while typing. This is very distracting, anyone have a solution?

What Mac? What version of macOS? What version of Word? Have you rebooted? Has this always happened? Generally when typing, regardless of the app, the cursor should disappear and only appear when you use the mouse/trackpad..

Here is the mac information, I have tried rebooting, Word version 15.26.

Fixed the problem, updated Word.

Glad you sorted out the issue. You should also upgrade macOS since you are a few revisions behind now. High Sierra was just released.

Make sure you have a good working backup of all of your important data before doing the upgrade.
