Hi i just received a mac g4 tower as a hand me down, no one remembers the password. i have tried to boot up with the MAC OS X grey discs but i can't get pass the kernel window. any advise?

Are you sure that the hardware works properly? Have you swapped out any parts to test them? Are these the right grey discs (they are machine specific)?
