Difference between 2015 and iMac 2019 27inch screens

I know this is probably stupid question, but I have a 2015 iMac with a 27 inch 5K retina screen and a friend of mine has a 2019 iMac with a 27 inch 5K retina screen. The screens look the same but have different part numbers as follows: 2015: 661-03255, 2019-661-12558. Since the screens are the same size and resolution shouldn't they be interchangeable? Or are there some physical or technical differences that preclude using a 2015 iMac screen on a 2019 iMac and vice a versa?

* Take a look at the video cable & power cable connectors for each...one or both could be different.

* Take a look at the length & location of the video & power cables. Sometimes Apple redesigns the logic board...and these cables may connect to different places for a 2015 & 2019 27" iMac (resulting in different cable lengths).

* Also from time to time Apple changes how the display is connected/bonded to the iMac body. This may result in small differences at the mounting surfaces.

Thank you very much for your response. I will check them both out. I am hoping that if the cables are different the connectors on the monitors will be the same. Then it will only be finding the right cables.

Excellent! Thank you so much! It does appear the cables are different but the socket connectors on the back of the displays look the same. I'm hoping that the difference is the length of the cables.
