My mac is 2017 pro with tech bar, 16GB memory.

Version is 10.3.14 High Sierra.

Suddenly all the dropdown menus show no words, with all blank, but the position with original button still be pressed and have same functionality, the only difference is there are not words on the button. Anyone has experienced? Shall I exchange it?

Have you tried to ShutDown?

If not do so, then wait 30-40 seconds then startup.

If still not fixed, repeat the shutdown but startup using Safe Boot Mode.
Hold down the shift key until you see teg rotating grey gear. Login to your username. Restart to return to normal use.

Run Disk Utility app repairs or first aid.

Let us know of any change and maybe post a screenshopt if you can and the problem still remains.

Have you done any "cleaning" on the MBP? Third party applications for "cleaning" can occasionally get too aggressive about deleting stuff and can delete the font files needed for menu displays.

When you say "Pro with tech bar", what is that referring to?

If you go to the Apple icon in the upper left corner and select About This Mac, can you give us that information?

Hmmm…???
You don't suppose an old problem has resurfaced perhaps, but may be worthwhile checking using Font Book.app to check all fonts just in case.

IE:
no text in drop down menus!

My computer seems to be working fine except that the drop down menus show no text. In any application. I can't shutdown my computer because just empty boxes show up under the apple icon, "File" "Edit" etc.

I ended up taking my laptop to the local Mac tech place, and they were able to fix it in 20 minutes. They just said that some fonts had been corrupted... myseterious, but at least the problems was solved.
