Hi all

I have a new MacBook Pro M1 Big Sur and I’ve downloaded Paragon NTFS but it’s asking me to turn off Enable System Extensions by restarting in recovery mode, is this ok and second of all will I need to turn it back on when finished or do I just leave it turned off?

thanks

Did you look at what the pop-up suggested?

I think it is asking you to allow extensions, in order for Paragon to work.

Yes it’s asking me to do it but I’m seeing if it’s ok to do and should I turn it back on after?

Yes, it's OK to do that for a trusted app like Paragon. And Yes, I would turn it On again, but there's no rush.

Personal view, of course.

You should ask paragon, since they're asking you to do it.

Thanks Ian, I haven’t used a Mac in a while so wanted to make sure,

The process of allowing kernel extensions is standard procedure for Big Sur. Built in security won't allow kernel extensions other than Apple which is why you need to boot to recovery and use the security utility.

Kernel extensions are drivers. In order for the Paragon driver to work, it must be given permission.
