I've just moved to Mac and set up my beloved novel in progress on Scrivener to find that my favourite font, Papyrus, so easy on the eye, doesn't come with an Italic or Bold version in the Mac fonts which is more than disappointing. Can anyway tell me where to get those fonts or e-mail them to me if you have them? My searching tells me they exist but I can't find them to download.
Many thanks

Papyrus is a display font and only has one weight

Its not really suited to setting paragraphs of text, more suited to headlines

It's all a question of taste I admit but Papyrus does seem to come in Italic & Bold at least according to The Papyrus font. I'll also have to check but I started my present book on an old PC and I'm sure I used Papyrus Italic but a Windows Font will not be transferable to a Mac.

If you can find the font on the PC, then Windows true type fonts do indeed work just fine in OS X

I'm a little confused right now. On my old PC I appear to have only Papyrus in the Windows Fonts Folder and yet when using Word, I can italicize Papyrus merely by selecting text and clicking on italics! Would there be other places in Windows where Papyrus Italic might live? But if I can find a True Type font for Papyrus Italic then are there any special problems in importing it into the Mac?

Word is creating what is called faux bold and italics, basically slanting to get italics and adding an outline to create bold text.

I'm going to settle for Optima then. It's easy to read when your working and it has a full set of options.
