I couldn't really find an appropriate group so I decided to use this one.

Many folks are complaining about the GPS not mounting. I had the same problem. I could look in volumes and see the add-on chip mount but the GPS itself was just showing as trying to mount. Disk Utility couldn't do it. Then it finally mounted. The key seems to be to wait as long as it takes, and it takes a really long time!

I have a Garmin, are running Garmin Express. When plugged in to the computer you need to select (on the Garmin) the correct correction type, and then the Garmin app will find your Satnav.

How do you do that? Mine just connects but it does it immediately. I just takes a while to mount.

Are you looking at the Garmin or the Mac?

Are you looking at the Garmin or the Mac?
Both. The problem has been that people with Garmin's and M1 Macs have had problems getting the Garmin to mount in order to use Garmin Express. Under Sequoia I found, on my M1, that the thing would mount. It just took a really long time.

Which connection type did you select?
More important, there does not seem to bean such an option on my 3597. It either connects or it doesn't. So far I'ver never had a problem connecting, just mounting.

I have the latest Garmin Express. Neither it nor the nuvi have any sort of connection type setting.

Have you given the correct permissions:

Yes. Garmin Express has "Full Disk Access" on my Mac, which is probably why it is able to access the nuvi.

I am NOT having any problem with Express on my Mac connecting to my nuvi. Other people are. I'm just saying giving it enough time to mount solved my problem.
