Ok so i have been playing Garry's Mod for almost a year now (Since March 2011 on my new steam Account) and it has worked magnificently on my mac until a few weeks ago. It may have been a file i might have accidentally replaced but i dont know. So if you read the title, About 35% of the props i spawn dont show up but when i select the area i spawned the prop, the physgun's beam gets thicker like when you highlight a prop so it works fine and everything, it just doesn't show up. I dont want to reinstall my gmod because it would take months to get all my Addons, Maps, Models and Materials back. Anyway, i think when i was using Source Finagler (GFScape for Mac) to get l4d models, Materials and Particles to work in gmod, i might have replaced a few models and materials which probably explains a lot. Anyway, If you can help me i would really appreciate it. Thanks!

So just to be sure...you haven't performed any OS upgrading or updating prior to having problems with this game? If you updated/upgraded your OS...that could cause issues.

Ok thanks for the info. Firstly...I have absolutely no idea about anything regarding the game you are playing (I haven't played it)...but I can suggest some basic Mac troubleshooting things:

- How full is your HD? If it's too full (or totally full this will cause problems).
- When was the last time you repaired Disk Permissions?
- Have you tried quitting & restarting your web browser?
- Have you tried quitting & restarting "Steam"?
- Have you tried restarting/rebooting your computer?

These ideas may or may not address the problems you are having with things "spawning" in "Gary's Mod"...but they are things I would try if I was having issues.

HTH,

Just to know how much this means...what size is your HD?

For example...28gigs free on an 80 gig drive is a lot...but 28gigs free on a 750gig drive is not a very much.

28 gigs free on a 250 gb drive. My computer has not notified me that i need to free up some space and is working fast. I use mackeeper and cleanmymac to cleanup anything extra

Have you tried the Steam Forums
You will prob get a better response being it STEAM your having a problem with. Thats all i can give atm. Remembering on this Mac forum there might not be anyone that plays via Steam, or not your particular game. If someone pops in Kudos to you but honestly i think your fighting a loosing battle in here.

Cheers

I don't play the game or really have anything to add other than both of the programs you are using (especially mackeeper) are known to cause problems. The general consensus here is if you are using mackeeper, get rid of it ASAP. Do a thread search for more info.

Onyx is a good free utility for routine maintenance on your Mac.

I had to re-read the thread 4 times to see that. Morning coffee please lol Good pickup.
@OP Get rid of MacKeeper as Razor suggested and see if that helps.

Sounds like corrupted prop files. Where/what game did you get them from?
