After my recent post on CMM X someone, I'm sorry I forget who, mentioned Titanium Software's Maintainence app, a lighter version of OnyX.
So I thought I'd try it out just for curiosity sake and I noticed Deeper.
It can be used to; "enable and disable the hidden functions of the Finder, Dock, Safari, iTunes, login window, and many of Apple’s applications, and more".
Has anyone tried this app? If so what for?

OnyX combines both Deeper and Maintenance. Deeper works on the “behind the scenes” stuff, while Maintenance works on system stuff. At least that’s the way I see them.

Aaah, thanks Bob. So the Maintainence app is the maintenance script from OnyX (I think I will be recommending that from now on, lighter and simpler). And Deeper is an app that comprises the other OnyX tabs, Utilities, Files and Parameters?

I’m not in front of my Mac right now, but I don’t think that’s entirely correct. Onyx can do everything Maintenance can do and then some, and a very small handful of things that Deeper can do. If you have Onyx, you don't need Maintenance. Deeper is more of a personalization app. It activates “hidden” features of macOS. It’s much more like TinkerTool, if you have that already. I keep Onyx and TinkerTool for my needs. I don’t recall Deeper being capable of anything that TinkerTool can’t do and I think TT is otherwise slightly more capable.

EDIT: I stand corrected, as per my followup post below. Onyx does contain all of Deeper's tools.

I agree. I have both OnyX and TinkerTool. Both are free and basically offer all you need.

Sorry about that. I never tried Deeper, I just assumed, because of what I read on Titanium’s webpage.

That's okay, maybe I'll download Deeper and check it out. I used to have TinkerTool myself years ago I remember it being a fun if slightly unnecessary app but it did have some useful features.

I stand corrected. I just looked over Onyx some more and had Deeper handy, and yes, it looks like Onyx does have all of the tools that Deeper contains. The "Parameters" section of Onyx appears to be effectively a clone of Deeper. Totally my bad here. So basically it appears that Onyx is a combo of Maintenance and Deeper.

Okay, well I guess that makes sense. At first glance I can't see anything I'd want to change.
