Could I ask for help with my MacBook Air 13" 2013 model?
I got two of the "For Parts" machines from eBay, and put together one working machine. But there is an odd issue that I can't figure out.
The computer only boots from an External USB drive, not from the internal SSD. When the computer is up, it somehow mounts the SSD on the desktop.
But, if I go to internet recovery mode and try to install OS on the SSD, Disk Utility doesn't recognize the SSD.
I put the SSD in the OWC enclosure, and tried to connect to another Mac and a PC, thinking I should do deep reformat, but any computers or software don't recognize this SSD.
Is there any ways to mount this SSD or make it usable? Thank you!

Welcome to our forums.

It sounds like the SSD is defective. If it's not being recognized either by macOS Disk Utility or the Windows utility, then it's likely that it has failed.

What is the make and size of the SSD? And can you return it for a refund?

Thank you for your reply!
I actually tried two SSDs. One of them is 128GB Apple SSD, the other is 240GB OWC Aura SSD. Both were working, but now they are unrecognizable by any computers.
I used this "working" logic board I got from eBay. Would it be possible that a logic board zaps SSDs?
It's too late to get refund, so I'll look for some other software fix.
Thanks!
