I recently learned that MBP has two fans; left and right fans.
However, I don't remember my right fan has ever ran. Only the left fan works when I use the laptop with heavy loads so the left side of the keyboard gets very hot sometimes. Never felt right side of the keyboard got hot.
So I downloaded Fan Control and it shows "Right Fan: -1 RPM." : I guess my right fan doesn't work..

Should I bring my MBP to AppleStore and have it checked?
Any knowledge would be much appreciated!

Thanks guys!

Hiya,

I have to say I've got the same "Problem" I always hear my left fan but not my right one. also when I feel the left side it's really hot and the right side isn't.

Doesn't this have to do with what graphic card you enable? is it mayB that the right fan works for the better graphic card and the left one for the mobile graphic card?

Hi SterAllures,

I googled a bit and I guess you are right; 13" and 15" models without dedicated graphics only have one fan.

So I suppose my 13" MBP has a dedicated graphic card?...
Now I'm confused..
There are not many info about fans out there...
I'm kinda worried because my MBP's average temperature is about 60 degree celsius. Is that normal?

The 13" MBP only has one fan, on the left side.

No worries. :)

As for your temperature.

What exactly is 60 degrees celsius? The HD, the CPU etc.

My CPU runs around 50-60 celsius depending on what apps I am running, ventilation, and exterior temperature.

Also, your MBP does *NOT* have a dedicated graphics card.

So that means MBP has two fans. so I think we have to worry than because I also never hear my right fan working or doing anything at all...

I guess alexsd1213 cleared out everything..

-13" MBP has only one fan on the left.
-13" MBP does not have a dedicated graphic card.

Which means, what I wrote in the two post above are completely wrong.lol...
I was worried about for no reason then..
Thanks alexsd123
