Hi, my iMovie 6 project has been destroyed after interrupted save. I can't seem to reopen it to where it was before that. All the images and clips were automatically moved into the iMovie's trash bin after i interrupted the saving process and closed the program and then tried to re-open it. I've tried going to file>revert to last saved, but it just gets frozen while trying to load that last saved version. Any suggestions?

Mac OS X 10.6.7

Welcome to Mac-Forums..

Had you saved your project recently or was this the first time you were saving new stuff? Why did you try interrupting the process anyway? If thing were sent to the trash bin, iMovie has lost enough context of what you were doing to restore state..

If you at least have your media back, you can try re-creating your sequence again?

Ashwin, thanks for your reply, I had already been saving the project all along. The problem is that the external HD I was saving it to got disconnected for a moment, and when I reconnected it and tried to save the minor change I'd made, it got confused and sat there in a "saving thumbnails" mode. I thought interrupting the save might help preserve what I'd had from the previous save, but apparently that was the wrong thinking. I quit iMovie and shut off the ext-HD and restarted. When I opened the file, everything was in the trash. Does that still sound to you like the movie timeline is probably now unrecoverable?

Honestly, I haven't used iMovie much, but if you've been saving the project all along and a single iteration didn't save properly, I would've expected it to try to recover from that in a sane manner as opposed to throwing everything in the trash.

Now when you re-connect the external drive, do you still have an older copy of the project there or is it not loading from the external drive either?

No, the copy on the external HD is the only copy I've got. Maybe I'll try "revert to last saved" one more time and see if it works.
