How to export iMovie audio at 96/24?

Hi, I have been trying to export audio tracks of 4K/96/24 grade mov files at the rate of 96/24. This is for editing the audio files with DAW. So far I can not find how to. The exported audio files are all 48/24. Is this the specification of iMovie? Hope someone will help me! Satoshi

Thank you, gshail, Inspired by your kind post, I happened to think of using Logic Pro X to handle video data. I checked out to find out if Logic Pro X can import movie data. Wow, this may work. Tomorrow, I will try using Logic Pro X to see if it can export audio tracks at the 96/24 grade. BTW, the url you suggested me see suggests use of Final Cut Pro. It is good software, as good as iMovie, though a little bit too expensive to buy. I will try VCL as well and let you know how it works. Thank a lot again! Satoshi

Hi, I have tried a couple of way to export audio tracks of Mov files. The movies are grade of 4K and the audio is 96K Hz/24bit recording. The following is the method that worked well. My working file for this test was 100GB video plus audio and the audio track only was 5GB. First import the movie file to Logic Pro X. Uncheck <import video?> so that only the audio data are imported. The Logic Pro X has to be set up at 96K Hz beforehand. Then export the audio to anywhere you want as a file. Thirdly, import the exported wav file at 96/24 to DAW for editing, mastering and so on. Then export again the mastered sound as you want. Lastly combine the video data and audio data on iMovie to make for example Youtube clips. This was the easiest and quickest way I have tried. None of iMovie, LVC nor QT7 did not work in exporting the audio at 96/24. Only if all these go-backandforth could be done in iMovie alone!
