I spilled a drink, Motherboard dead, but have SSD in hand. I can't find a USB adapter for it to get data off. Help?

Hmmm...??? A bit more info would sure help and maybe your plan for what you are planning to do.

Do we assume the "SSD in hand" is the internal boot drive from your MacBook Pro A1708??

For that, chscag's links should have an answer, hopefully.

If not, maybe try here:

Thank you very much for the speedy replies.
I checked out both the sites, and didn't have any luck. It's looking like my best bet is to find another similar laptop and see if it boots to the drive.

Did you get a chance to check out the site I provided just before you posted??

It seems they have a card that would fit and then all you would need would be a USB adapter if I'm understanding the connections needed properly.

Thanks-- They seem to have every other SSD, but I can't find the one for my A1708.

Do you know if another model has the same form factor?

Sorry no.

Maybe check with a good independent Mac tech in your area for suggestions or ideas, not the Apple Store techs!!!

I will. Thanks for the quick help-- first time here, sorry there wasn't a quick fix, but I'm very impressed with the helpfulness. :)

It looks like you're going to need a 2016 or 2017 no Touch Bar MBP, to get your data, unless you had a backup system in use?

Yes, look like I'll end up doing that.
No backup :(
For a customer, they learned that lesson.
Thank you.
