Hi I recently purchased a Macbook Air and a HP Envy 5530 all in one printer. I am having problems with not being able to print in color and honestly can't find any help online for this issue. I have checked my settings, deleted and reinstalled drivers for the printer, and have come to my wits end. I can get the printer to print in color by itself, like on a diagnostics page but from the internet or from the desktop it all comes out black and white only. Thank you. Macbook Air Intel i5 OSX 10.9.3/ HP Envy all in one printer/copier/scanner

When in System Preferences, Printers & Scanners, with your HP Envy 5530 attached to your Mac, click on the Add Printer (+) icon. You should then see more than one instance of the HP Envy 5530. Select the one that you have not already selected (whatever the designation is) and that should be your color model to use. Set it as the default.

Great. We've had a lot of questions regarding that same printer and newer HP laser printers, and believe me, it took a lot of experimenting to get the doggone things working right. Too bad HP doesn't seem to care. Have fun and visit us often. :)

Apps directly from the printer work fine. It's currently printing coupons in color but it won't print from my computer in color. I'm using a hp envy printerand there are no black and white setting checked either.

Welcome to the forum.

Did you follow the advice given in post #2 of this thread?
If not, try it. If that doesn't work, what Mac, what version of the OS? What application are you using to print?
