This is really annoying that I can not read any reviews. I can post. I can see the site, but I can not read reviews.

Here is an example of a restaurant Yelp site.

I can not read the review.

iMac, El Capitan,

Comments????

The link doesn't help, post a screenshot of what you see so that others can compare. I can see the reviews just fine.

This most likely is due to an adblocker you are running. Although... you are on El Capitan? What versions of Safari and Firefox do you have?

78.15.0esr (64-bit) Firefox
Version 11.1.2 (11605.3.8.1) Safari

This is driving me crazy. I can not get reviews to show with either browser.

I am attaching two screen shots showing the example web site, but I can not select reviews. It will not like me click to show reviews.

I have turned off all ad-blockers that I am aware of.

Am I the only one having this issue????

Someone wanted a screen shot so here are a couple everything looks good but you are not able to show reviews with either browser.

Have you tried another browser? Have you made any changes to the fonts on your system? Have you used any "cleaner" or "Utility" third party products on your Mac? It looks like the page is starting to load, but stalled out, or cannot find the font to display the text.

Good question about system fonts, not sure what I am missing, whatever it is, it is the same on both browsers. This is happening on other web site reviews. I just used this as an example. Do you have any idea on what system font I should be looking at. Thanks

No clue what font Yelp may be using. What other browser have you tried? What other websites? I don't know if Brave browser works on El Cap, but it might be worth looking at.

You didn't answer about "cleaning" software.

Sorry I am not sure what you mean cleaning software. It happens on trying to read reviews for yelp on all web sites. I just booted in Safe Mode, same results. Do you think I should reset my system fonts.

Here’s how to set default font recognition on Mac:
1. Shut down your Mac and power it back on while holding Shift to boot in Safe Mode
2. In Safe Mode, your fonts should look normal. Launch Terminal.
3. To clear your font cache and reset the font database, type sudo atsutil database -remove
4. To turn off your Mac once again, type sudo shutdown -r now
5. Power your Mac back on

I booted into High Sierra and reviews displayed. Have no idea why they will not display in El Capitan!

Same Mac? Same browser?

So what version of Brave, or Vivaldi, or Opera will work on Mac OS 10.11.6.

All the downloads will not work on this Mac OS, yet all the web info says they will.

I was able to get a version of Vivaldi 5.2.2623.48 (Stable channel) (x86_64) to work with EL Capitan.

And the reviews are now displayed.

Your browsers aren‘t current, but they aren’t terribly old. What I would try is using Onyx’ full suite of cleaning tools. Make sure you clean the internet caches in particular.

Rim45, when I try your link on my iPhone I see the below. I'm assuming you see the same.

But, when I try to click on "more" to read the full review which I think you mean by "opening" I get referred to the mobile app in the App Store.

I will try the same on my Mac in about 30min and report back.

Okay, so back on my Mac I was able to open the full browser web site from your link (after I turned off my VPN). I was immediately confronted with a request to sign in with Google, which I declined. All the reviews were in full, no need to open then to "read more" so it works as expected for me.

PS. I'm using Brave Browser, very similar to Vivaldi in its ad blocking, anti tracking and security features and I have Vivaldi on an old white unibody 2010 MacBook running macOS High Sierra. I have found it to be a really good choice for older devices.

Thanks for taking the time to do this. I have no idea why the Yelp reviews show empty windows on my iMac, El Capitan. I did install Vivaldi, not bad, but not as robust as Firefox. It has no way to message or email a web link from within Vivaldi.

Vivaldi loads reviews perfectly, but Safari, and Firefox, review window sare empty, no text, go figure.

I can not solve this issue, yet it loads perfectly on your El Capitan Mac.
