A few years back I was looking for an iOS app able to scan my iPhone for virus' and malware, it seemed like a great idea back then, today my opinion is a little different.
What does everyone else think?

iOS apps can only be downloaded from the App Store (assuming that you haven't jail-broken your phone). Every app is vetted by Apple to be free of malware or malicious function. So what malware are you expecting Malwarebytes to find?

In fact, a legitimate anti-malware program (if one existed) couldn't even run under iOS. Why? Because iOS is so secure, it doesn't allow apps to access other apps. So an anti-malware program can't even do a scan under iOS.

If you have read my past answers to questions about Mac anti-virus applications, you will recall that I don't trust Malwarebytes as a company. This is one of the reasons why. They are trying to cheat you. I consider them to be a dishonest company and I wouldn't have their software on any of my devices.

Up to around 2016 when the original founders swapped to a subscription based business model it was quite relevant or at least I thought so back then, I started using it around 2014.
It didn't have live monitoring or any of the "bells an whistles" that came after that. I was essentially just a malware scanner a bit like VirusBarrier Scanner is today.

True to form the iOS version includes a VPN (doesn't everything?), call and text filter, web protection, ad blocker, spam blocker, identity protection and more.
Interestingly the only thing it doesn't do is scan for Malware.

Malwarebytes for the Mac is a product that they purchased, not one that they developed themselves. The original product was FREE and good...for the Macintosh. It was excellent for dealing with adware, an area where traditional Mac anti-virus programs, and the Mac OS itself, fall down. But when Malwarebytes came out with a commercial version, everything changed for the worse. Malwarebytes started using very deceptive advertising, and even though they still had a free version, it was filled with adware for the commercial version.

Malwarebytes was never a relevant product for iOS. At least not with respect to malware. iOS has always been locked down by Apple.
