I have 6.58 gb of free space, iOS 15 needs 4.74 gb to install so why does it want to delete apps? I don’t trust it to do that. So how much more space do I need free so it doesn’t ask to delete apps and starts the install? Thanks.

You might want to wait since iOS 15.1 is going to be released this Monday, Oct 25th.

However, iOS 15 download might be 4.74 GB but it will need around twice that to install. I would allow at least 10 GB free to safely install it. Offload any photos or videos to your Mac to make room.
