The new MacOS, Sequoia 15.0 came with an app on my dock "iPhone Mirroring". I set it up on my iMac and my wife's iMac. I open it and it looks like my phone. I tried to call my wife on it, and see the following screen that thinks I want to call back, and when I try calling, says "Call failed". Anybody know what's happening here?

When the line you call is busy, you get that option.

That's because phone calls isn't supported.

Read more here: iPhone Mirroring: Use your iPhone from your Mac - Apple Support

This will have great utility for folks that want to record their phone without cables and stuff. The copy and paste is nice, but less of an issue if you are using Photos with your Apple ID. Also AirDrop works just fine.

OK. I don't see any use for it for me then.
Likewise! I suppose if you have an iPhone only app where you need to input a lot of text, then being able to do so via your Mac could be useful.

I like being able to use my keyboard and mouse on my iPad even though I don't need to enter a lot of text. But I don't use any apps on either device that requires me to enter much text.

IMO this is a very niche thing that some people will find very useful and most will likely ignore. But It's a nice to have functionality, not a must have.

Too many devices to list
If you want to call people from your Mac, you can use FaceTime to do this. See here.
