Looks like they are basically removing the protection that macOS has in place to prevent apps from playing with the most in-depth parts of the OS. The procedure is fairly well documented, but its your choice whether to take it on.. I couldn't find any other apps that do this with a quick Google search and I'm thinking if one needs this to be done, they might all..
