Hello,
Will the following Mac OS X Tiger operating system work with my Powerbook G4 Mac. My present operating system is Mac OS X 10.2.8.

The following information is from an ebay listing.
What should I expect to pay for a Tiger Upgrade?

Mac OS X Version 10.4 Tiger, and iLife '08...

System requirements for the Mac OS X Tiger are:

A PowerPC G3, G4, or G5 processor
Built-in FireWire
At least 256 MB of RAM
DVD drive (DVD-ROM), Combo (CD-RW/DVD-ROM) or SuperDrive (DVD-R) for installation
At least 3 GB of free disk space; 4 GB if you install the XCode 2 Developer Tools

This is an Awesome Operating System...Genius!!! I Love Mine...

The operating system should definitely be fine.

How much RAM do you have though? Might want to check that. I think iMovie might struggle on that, and it looks like you'd also need to upgrade software before attempting to install iLife 08. I have a feeling that the Powerbooks' processors were around the 1.2ghz mark. Don't know if that means it's incapable of running (some of) those iLife apps, or whether it simply means the processor would struggle. It only mentioned G5 processors for iMovie, nothing about G4...

From what I can tell, Tiger should be fine. My brother used it on his (powerbook G4), and has upgraded to Leopard with no troubles.
