I'm a complete 'newbie' with regard to anything Mac having spent many years using Windows 10 so to say I haven't got a clue is pretty accurate.

I've bought a Mac Mini M2 Pro and as I have a Kensington Trackball I installed the Kensington Works App but had a few problems (being a newbie) so I opened Finder and dragged the Kensington App into the bin and then emptied it.

Now everytime I start my computer I get a warning stating that I need to grant KensingtonWorks access to my Mac even though I now can't find it on my computer. I've attached a screen shot of the warning message.

I have no idea as to what to do next; maybe you do?

Any advice would be very welcome.

Dragging an application to the Trash Bin works for MOST applications, but applications that access peripherals (keyboards, mice, etc.) usually install additional Kernel extensions to be able to do what they do and the Trash Bin method doesn't clear things up well enough.

Even using a free AppCleaner wouldn't catch it, since that only catches any configuration files that might be sprinkled elsewhere.

So for these apps, you ideally want to and should use any uninstaller that came bundled with it.

So you might want to re-download the application, and once installed, go to the Applications folder and see if there's an uninstaller. If there, use that to cleanly uninstall the application and its related components.

Barring that, we'll have to do some Terminal magic to get rid of dangling chads.

You can also get and run Etrecheck and see exactly where the part loading at boot/login is stored.

And, if you laugh Settings, General and the click on "Login items" you will see what you have authorized at your login, and below that, what is allowed to load in the background. Look to see if there is anything that looks to be from Kensington.

If it's a login item, select it and then click the "-" below the box.

If it is in the "Allow in the Background" you can move the slider to prevent it loading.

Then, once you've deleted it, reboot.

I tried everything mentioned but still continued to get the annoying message with regard to KensingtonWorks and then I read about using OnyX for 'cleaning' my computer and after running it the message stopped.

Well pleased as it helped me and might help otheres if they have a similar experience.

We too are fans of OnyX. Glad that sorted out your problem, possibly by clearing out the Caches?
