Hello,
I have a a new Macbook Pro 13" with Touch bar.
It fell down and the touch bar seems to be broken. I can still use it as I mostly use it with a bluetooth keyboard. Still I've been having more and more kernel panics.
I had them before it fell down, but since then I have the impression I have more. Not sure it's related though.

Here is one of the last crash report I have.
If you could help me solve this, or maybe tell me whether it's a hardware or software issue.

appeared in the Etrecheck report. Here is a link to an older article on where that comes from. It looks like you installed Kies from Samsung on June 12th and it's somehow launching many times.

I don't know if that is the cause of the panics, but nothing should launch that many times. I would remove Kies and, if you really need it, reinstall.

Indeed I deleted the fuspredownloader that was all over the place. Not sure what it is.
I hope it won't re-appear.

My etrecheck seems much lighter now.

Regarding external devices I plug android phones to transfer content and hard disks, that's about it.

Kernel panics are usually hardware related, and a dropped MBP may well have internal damage in addition to the keyboard. You might take it to an Apple store or Apple authorized service center and have them run diagnostics on the system. Also, the latest report says you have had something called xartstorageremoted crash 19 times. That daemon is used to communicate with the T1 processor that handles the touch bar that you say is not working. So that could be the part of the system that is causing the panics--the touch bar. But that's a guess, based on the last Etrecheck report.

That is a strange report in that given that your system HAS a touch bar, that daemon should indeed be running. So either Etrecheck doesn't know about the daemon and what it does, or it doesn't see the touch bar because it's been broken. I suspect the latter is the problem.

Thanks Jake for your answer.
I also strongly suspected this xartstorageremoted, and the fact that the touch bar is broken make me suspect it even more. The touch bar settings also disappeared form system preferences / keyboard, from the settings in safari where it usually sits. No way to kill the touch bar processes or restart them as they just don't exist anymore in activity anymore.

Do you think there could be a way to completely suppress this xartstorageremoted so that it does not make the whole system crash anymore? Basically completely suppress the software side of the touchbar? Maybe this does not make sense and would cause even more trouble though...

Well, the T1 CPU that is the co-processor also handles the Secure Enclave, so it is probably pretty tightly integrated to the OS. I've not heard of any way to disable the touch bar. I have seen some ways to set the touch bar to be just function keys, not programmable or changeable, but I have not seen any workarounds for it being broken like yours probably is.

I have no idea if that product they mentioned works or not, or if will work in a system with a physically broken Touch Bar.

The real answer to your problem is to have the machine repaired. If you purchased Apple Care +, Apple will repair or replace the machine less a deductible. However, I do not know if Apple Care + is available in your country. In any event instead of a work around, you should have the machine repaired. I suspect the drop may have damaged components. That usually means replacing the logic board. Apple does provide a free diagnosis at their Apple Stores. Won't hurt to take it in and get an estimate.

Yes, I now realize it is indeed the problem.
Because the MBP keeps doing kernel panics randomly...
I thought it might be another issue and I wanted to explore this before going to an Apple store.
But I'll do it!

So it seems it's the temperature checking device that is out.
As no information is given regarding the temperature, the system goes into kernel panic. At least that's what I've been explained.
They will make additional checks and give me a quote for the repair in a couple of days.

Thanks for getting back to us. It sounds like a thermal sensor may have been damaged but since your machine is so new, I'm not sure if that's something that can be repaired without replacing the entire logic board. Hopefully it's not going to be an expensive repair.

For what it's worth. For seemingly no reason, my iMac crashed with the same panic warning, around the same day. Hasn't happened since ?

I got my mac back for a few days.
They told me that the thermal sensor seems to be working, but it's not very clear.
I was asked to make a clean install of macos with recovery to see if it solved the issue. I did it, but it kernel panicked a coupld of minutes after I had reinstalled everything.
So I brought it back and they should change both the logic board and the touch bar.
Quite surprisingly they told me it would be covered by the warranty! If it is indeed the case, it would be quite nice. Maybe the first person who logged my complaint consciously omitted the fact that I had dropped it :)).

Waiting for my mac (while keeping all my fingers crossed).
