Every time I press a hotkey weather it be Command+T for a new tab in Firefox or command+Q to quit an application, my MacBook Pro beeps. It gets very VERY annoying. I thought I fixed this awhile ago, but it's back!!!
I just restarted my computer an hour ago so doing that hasn't changed anything.
Thank you to all that try to help me out :)

Have you got Sticky Keys set to ON in System Preferences > Universal Access > Keyboard?
If so then turn it off, if you need it turned on then de-select the "Beep when modifier key is used" (can't remember the exact wording of it now).

Hope this helps

I just checked, it's turned off. I tried googling this but had absolutely no luck. Thanks for the tip though!

Just googled it too, the first hit is our thread. Anyone else with some ideas?
Also is it with any shortcut including OS shortcuts or is it just with shortcuts in a specific Application?

Back to my old 2.2GHz C2D MB after selling my MBP and wondering what my next Mac will be :)
You say in your post that you thought you fixed it a while ago..... How did you fix it then?

...and is this the sound that you are getting?

No solution from me.... but read
http://www.mac-forums.com/forums/switcher-hangout/199349-why-did-my-macbook-make-noise-sound.html

For now, until you find a solution, I would change the alert sound to something a little more bearable.

I would also try repairing disk permissions and using OnyX and seeing if that gives any peace!

Download OnyX for Mac - OS X maintenance & optimization tool. MacUpdate.com

Be sure to download the right version for the OS you are using, and use the Automation tab once you do.

I restarted my computer and I noticed i used a shortcut key and it didn't beep. I thought the problem was fixed but an hour later it came back. I'm going to have to pin-point when it starts closer next time.
I'm about to give OnyX a try soon

May want to set up a new admin account, and see if the issue occurs in the new account.

i executed OnyX and restarted my computer. I can minimize and use other hotkeys just fine right now. Lets see how long it last.
Thanks to ALL that have gave me some insightful input and tips!
