Today in a vane attempt to find my iPhone Encrypted Backup Password I discovered that Keychain Access is still a part of macOS Sequoia albeit in a rather obscure spot; /System/Library/CoreServices/Applications/Keychain Access.app
In the past others will recall that it got moved around a little bit, from Applications>Utilities to Applications>"Other" and now after the introduction of the Passwords app it's no longer in the applications folder at all, I thought maybe we had seen the last of it but no. It's still here, spruced up a bit but essentially the same slightly confusing app it always was.
The sad part was that although I found my iPhone Encrypted Backup Password it's still the wrong one. It looks like I may have made the stupid mistake of not ticking the box the save the password to Keychain after the most recent change about a year ago.
In Sequoia the only way to fix that is to Reset (erase) All settings on the iPhone. This means losing all my Home Screen Layout, folders, wallpaper ect ect, it also removes the backup encryption. Not other passwords or anything radical but enough to put me off doing it until absolutely necessary.
I was told that the repair of the "White Screen of Death" problem I had a few months back may only be temporary so I have resolved to replace this iPhone 13 pro Max when we return to Aus. in December. Towards that end I wanted to make an Encrypted local backup but as I know I cannot access it without the password I'll need to create a new one in order to save all my data.
Any way the upshot to all this was the rediscovery of Keychain Access which, had I updated my saved password would have saved me resetting my iPhone to create a new one. This is fact well worth knowing I think and almost worth the trouble.
