Lightwave 3D Background images not rendering

Has anyone had an issue with Macs not rendering the background image in a render? Have attached some sample screen shots with all relevant panels I could think of. Image renders in a QT movie. Tried other file types i.e. PNG24, 32 , Targa32 24. Any help would be appreciated.
