Lock Screen without going to Sleep?

Hey everyone,
I just posted a question (a different one) so here is my next one (and last one for now :D )
Is there a way to lock the screen but not put it to sleep.
If I'm downloading something (for example) that I want to download overnight, I'd prefer having my screen locked than having it on (with caffeine).
But if I go to sleep, my download will stop, right? So is there a way to have the lock screen (username and password) there, but maybe just in the foreground of all other apps or something.
Or an app that only unlocks when you enter a password and it's always in the foreground and it's un-quit-able?
Thanks in advance :D
Marius

cntrl-shift-eject or you can set a hot corner to bring up the screen saver - but the keyboard shortcut is the quickest.

Way... way too many specs to list.
I tend to accidentally hit hot corners.. so I did this.

1. Launch the “Keychain Access” application located in /Applications/Utilities.
2. Choose “Show Status in Menu Bar” from the View menu.
3. Now you have a lock in the menu bar. Use this menu to:

Lock the screen (activates Screen Effects which requires your password to unlock screen).
Lock or unlock your Keychain.
Launch the Keychain Access application.

Thats exactly what I wanted :D And I don't even have to download a 3rd party app.
This does keep downloads running and time machine running, right?

*EDIT*
Wait this is just like closing the lid thats not what I was looking for then... :/
*EDIT*

No - it's not sleep - it simply turns the display off. I believe cmd-option-eject sleeps the computer.

You could set a password on the screensaver I believe. Then use a hot corner to turn that on.

This is what I used to do before discovering cntrl-shift-eject.

Oh thats good :D
But then won't it go to sleep after some time display off??

Well - that's a good question. I run Caffeine - so it doesn't sleep until I tell it to. I would imagine that if your settings involve the computer sleeping after a certain period of time - that yes - it will do that. Download Caffeine - and between the two you have exactly what you're looking for.

Just go to the Energy Saver preferences and disable sleep. Combine that with BLVPI's suggestion of Shift-Control-Eject and you should be good to go.
