Macbook clean install error!

I got an second hand Macbook & OS discs to reinstall in English (since I got it in German).. but I'v been getting error

The log encluded @ bottom

On install with disc#2, it says:

An error occurred while installing Mac OS X . Click "continue" for details
Click to expand...

So then I click continue & it brings me to a screen

INSTALL FAILED
Mac OS X couldn't be installed on this computer

The installer couldn't install the software 'cuz there was no software found to install

Click restart to restart your computer & try installing again
Click to expand...

So I click restart to try again & each time I restart is resumes the install from disc #2 & gives me the same error!

Notes that may help out:
  • I selected to install every thing from the Install CD (ilife, iwork.. etc etc)
  • The second disc has a light! scratch on it, i assumed this wouldnt be the issue, but thats just one thing i wanted to let you guys know

Sounds to me like you've already found the issue with the scratch on the disc.

I'd suggest erasing the drive, reformat and install only the OS without any of the additional software. All of that can be installed at a later time after you're up and running OS X.

And these are the original Leopard discs that came with this machine? If so ring Apple and tell them of your problem with the scratched discs and ask for a replacement set.

Good idea - Have seen reports of Apple letting these go awful cheap.

Yay! Ok i got it to install! but (with only disc one)

Now where do I find the GarageBand and stuff like that online? (since my CD #2 is scratched) ?? ??
